Region VII Conference - Combined Canadian Chapter Meeting / Training Event ANTI – TERRORIST SYMPOSIUM

At the Holiday Inn Kingston Waterfront Hotel. Kingston is a city with a population of approximately 123,000 (including surrounding regions) and is situated at the junction of Lake Ontario and the St. Lawrence River, roughly 168km southwest of Ottawa, 296km west of Montreal and 256km east of Toronto. Kingston is one of the most historic cities in Canada. It is believed that Kingston and its surrounding counties boast more historic plaques than any other comparable area in Ontario and perhaps in Canada. It is also interesting to note there are more than 80 historical markers in the City of Kingston not including those in the historical district.

Room Rates:

Rate of $142 .00, 2 double beds. King Executive View $152.00 per night at the Holiday Inn Waterfront Hotel. The cost per delegate/exhibitor will be $400.00 CDN $ (inclusive of all taxes) for the three day event. Event Highlights: Region VII will go to school to identify possible terrorist targets within a city. Intelligence briefings on the worldwide threat and the purpose of bomb technicians in the event. Anti-Terrorism will be the theme for this years event and how first responders can work together to effectively respond to a significant event. Equipment demonstration/exercise day.
Area Highlights:
The Fort From the Skies Tour of Fort Henry is both a museum and a spectacular WORLD HISTORIC SITE. It’s official. Fort Henry National Historic Site of Canada, the Rideau Canal and the Kingston Fortifications have together been inscribed as a World Heritage Site by the United Nations Education, Scientific and Education Organization. The announcement was made in Auckland, New Zealand on June 28.Once inside the fortification's wooden gates visitors enter a marvelous reproduction of 19th century military life. The site offers guided tours, scenic views, and musical performances from a military band and military and marching demonstrations by the Fort Henry Guard.
